We were browsing through The Straits Times, Life! section, hoping to chance upon an advertisement where we can apply to be competitors in the The Amazing Race Asia. Our efforts are in vain, but guess what…

The Singapore Team, which made up of Adrian Yap and Collin Low, was spotted on The Straits Times Friday, September 28, 2007, page 6 of the Life! section. They were wearing our signature party tanks, showing off their lean and chiseled muscles, all ready for The Amazing Race Asia.

With the headline like ‘Hey good-looking, let’s race’, how can we miss the handsome lot especially when they are wearing NUM Party Tanks?

Who Got Lucky With TukyTuky?!

It took us some time to decide upon which the best three entries among the 1000 love notes are. These handwritten notes by the lucky thousand who received their TUKYTUKY for free on our launch day, 15th of September at The Heeren Shops Centre Stage totally blew us away. We lost some sleep but we managed to pick the luckiest among the lucky lot.

They are Fanny Lim, Low and Alvin Fong.

Here’s what they wrote on the love notes:

Fanny Lim wrote, “Shake Your Booty Booty & Get Your TukyTuky! =)”
Low impressed us with, “Even my mum is crazy over it! She sleeps with my TukyTuky everynight.”
Alvin Fong composed a haiku, “Looky Looky, TukyTuky, Make Me Lucky, Make Me Happy.”

All three of them will receive a pair of Havaianas worth $29.90 of their choice.

Not forgetting Nurul, one of TukyTuky’s craziest fans, who came hours early and started the queue, being the first to own a pair of TUKYTUKY. We will be contacting you guys shortly.

Breaking Records with TUKYTUKY

We've not seen a longer queue since Hello Kitty at the start of this millenium. At the launch of TUKY TUKY on 15 September, Havaianas enthusiasts flocked to The Heeren Shops to experience a new product - TUKY TUKY. These anti-oxidant and anti-rust jewels serve to compliment Havaianas and with so many varieties available, no wonder people are spoilt for choice on deciding what to adorn on their flip flops. NewUrbanMale.com was in a pre-Christmas mood that day and decided to give away 1000 pieces of TUKY TUKY to our loyal Havaianas supporters.

The queue started about half an hour before the official launch at 3pm. The crowd was given a goodie bag packed with Catalog magazines and NUM voucher worth over $100. People came for TUKY TUKY but our NUM Ambassadors were also hot properties on Saturday. The response to the launch was so overwhelming that we had to let our NUM Ambassadors take a break 2 hours into the event. Stomp blogger and Singapore Idol alumni, Maia Lee, also made an appearance, and she too, loves her TUKY TUKY. The queue at NewUrbanMale.com stores on the 4th floor too had queues forming, with Havaianas fans asking for more.

In 5 months, NewUrbanMale.com - one of the fastest growing lifestyle and fashion brand will soon announce another expansion plan.
